1969 Ford Mustang Mach I PROJECT CAR 1969
MACH I 428 SCJ with VERY RARE DRAG PACK OPTION.
This is the real deal! We
are offering for sale what is widely considered the most valuable and
desirable Mach I Mustang. It
is a complete, numbers matching, R-code Super Cobra Jet Mach I with a
4-speed and a W-code (4.30:1) rear axle (Drag Pack).
Its original finish was a beautiful (and rare) Gulfstream Aqua. We rescued this rare (1026 made) Super Cobra Jet from 15
years of garage storage where a restoration had been started. This Drag Pack car is currently disassembled and deserves a
full restoration, this is not a standard Cobra-Jet Mach I, Super Cobra
Jet's command a premium on the open market. The
decoded VIN number (9F02R212897) and door tag We
also have the original Build Sheet (see pictures), which verifies the
above information. The VIN
number appears on the base of the windshield, driver's door tag, both
front fender supports, and engine block.
We have verified the casting numbers on the following parts to be
correct for this car: This
car has 95% of its original components including ALL Parts
that are missing include: The
body is in very good condition for a Mustang that spent its entire life
in the Midwest. There are
several areas of rust repair that have been completed at some point. These areas, as best as we can tell, are limited to the lower
rear quarters and the door bottoms.
The floorboards in the passenger areas have been replaced at some
point. The rest of the
floorboards are original and very solid with the only apparent rust
being two quarter sized holes just in front of the gas tank and a small
area below the clutch pedal. The front fender and rocker panels appear
to be solid. The interior
is in overall good condition. Most of the parts show staining from extended storage but are
in otherwise good condition. We've
done our best to accurately represent this car.
Because of its current state of disassembly (it's basically a
rolling body), we cannot say for sure that every little bracket and
fastener is there. we do
know that every major component is present with the exception of what is
listed above. We feel that
the listed mileage is inaccurate due to the disassembly of the dashboard
but it is what is on the title. If
you have specific questions please e-mail jhoying@cruisenclassics.com
and I will respond promptly. This
is a RARE opportunity to own a completely matching numbers Super Cobra
Jet Mach I. Fully restored
SCJ's are selling (if you can find one) for $30,000 to $40,000.
The value of a car this rare will surely rise in the next few
years. Remember it costs
just as much to fully restore a standard Mustang as it does to restore a
rare and valuable SCJ. Pick
your investment wisely. Use your browser's Back button after reviewing description. |
